Monroe
County EMS is under the direction of Southwestern Illinois
Region IV. Dedicated to better serve our community with some of
the most advanced equipment available and being one of the most
proactive ambulance services in southern Illinois, we are
constantly seeking ways to better improve our service and injury
prevention in our community.
Our
service area covers approximately 339 square miles. Our western
border is lined with the Mississippi River and miles of bluffs.
The north, south and eastern portion of our territory are
farmland. Illinois caverns are also in our area and attract
thousands of tourists a year.
Our
staff is comprised of some of the most respected paramedics and
EMT’s within Southwestern Illinois Region IV. Due to our
geographic location, our standard for hiring is one of the most
stringent in the area. Furthermore, due to our geographical
location, transport times may be upwards of 30 minutes. For
this reason, our employees go through rigorous continuing
education and training in order to stay up to date with the
latest trends in emergency care. More critical incidents may
require us to airlift patients.
